2021 WWE Royal Rumble results, recap, grades: Edge, Bianca Belair emerge as winners on strong show - CBSSports.com

While there are other meaningful matches on every WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view card, the Royal Rumble matches themselves are the true highlight of the annual event. In 2021, both the men's and women's side featured impressive performances that saw the winners last nearly a full hour before securing their shot at a world title at WrestleMania.

On the women's side, Bianca Belair battled from the No. 3 spot, outlasting 29 other women before last eliminating Rhea Ripley. While Belair represents the new blood on the WWE roster, the men's side was won by a legend when Edge last eliminated Randy Orton to secure his title shot. Edge's win was the second time he had won a Royal Rumble match, this effort coming 11 years to the day after his previous victory.

Those two matches will be the lasting memories from the 2021 WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view, but the card was filled with entertaining and satisfying action from top to bottom.

CBS Sports was with you the whole way through the event, providing results and grades as the action went down. Read on for everything you need to know coming out of the Royal Rumble and scroll further for highlights from the show.

2021 WWE Royal Rumble results, grades

Women's Tag Team Championship -- Charlotte Flair & Asuka (c) vs. Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler (Kickoff Show): Flair and Asuka got things off to a good start, with Flair handling Baszler before Asuka took the fight to Jax. Baszler and Jax eventually took over by isolating Asuka and wearing her down while an anxious Flair paced on the ring apron. Flair eventually got the hot tag and ran through Baszler before hitting a double Natural Selection and scoring a near fall. Ric Flair's music hit, leading to a distraction that almost allowed Baszler to score a roll-up on Charlotte. Lacey Evans then interrupted from ringside, including pulling Charlotte's arms out while she was in the Figure Eight. Ric handed Evans something to load her fist and hit the Women's Right when Charlotte locked in the hold again, setting up Jax to pin Charlotte after a leg drop for the win to capture the titles. The match was fine, but the ending was entirely predictable and the tag titles continue to be more prop than valuable asset.  Jax & Baszler def. Flair & Asuka (c) via pinfall to win the titles -- Grade: B-

WWE Championship -- Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Goldberg: McIntyre hit Goldberg with the Glasgow Kiss dropped him with a spear before the match started, taking the action outside where Goldberg threw him into the ring steps before spearing him through the barricade. McIntyre eventually made his way back into the ring for the bell to ring, starting the match. McIntyre hit a Claymore seconds later, but Goldberg kicked out. Goldberg followed with two more spears for his own near fall. McIntyre again kicked out after a Jackhammer. McIntyre hit another Claymore, scoring the pin and retaining the title. After the match, Goldberg nodded, told McIntyre "You passed the test," and the two shared a handshake and hug. The match was short, as expected, and followed the "Goldberg Formula," for better or worse. For a match nobody really wanted to see, it was as inoffensive as possible, if unspectacular. McIntyre (c) def. Goldberg via pinfall to retain the title -- Grade: C+

SmackDown Women's Championship -- Sasha Banks (c) vs. Carmella: Banks was one step ahead early, but interference from Reginald allowed Carmella to take over the action outside put Banks on the defensive. Carmella continued to blast away at Banks with elbows and forearms and Banks began grabbing at her knee after hitting a meteora, allowing Carmella to continue running the match. Carmella threw Banks from the ring, where she was caught by Reginald. After Banks hit a huricanrana on Reginald, he was ejected from ringside, but Carmella hit Banks -- and the floor -- face-first on a suicide dive. Banks started rolling but Carmella countered a frog splash by getting her knees up and then locked in the Code of Silence to nearly force a submission. Moments later, it was Banks who got the submission with the Banks Statement, retaining her title. Carmella is a limited worker in some ways, but when she is working heel against a very good wrestler like Banks, she can more than hold her own playing into nastier offensive tendencies. Not everything here was smooth, but Banks is so good and Carmella good enough that there was plenty to like. Banks (c) def. Carmella via submission to retain the title -- Grade: B

Women's Royal Rumble: Bayley and Naomi started as No. 1 and 2, respectively. There were no eliminations before Bayley had to deal with her rival in No. 3 entrant Bianca Belair. After coming out at No. 4, Billie Kay settled in at the announce table rather than enter the ring before the first NXT entrant of the night, Shotzi Blackheart. Contestants continued to pile up as no eliminations were scored until Shayna Baszler dumped Blackheart for the first elimination of the match. Former superstar Jillian Hall was the first true surprise entrant of the night, forming an alliance with Kay to form "Billie and Jilly." Victoria also made her return, entering the match at No. 10. Participants continued to pile up in the ring with eliminations hard to come by before Hall was finally the second woman out, followed by Kay and the match settled into a more familiar rhythm after Rhea Ripley entered the match and she and Baszler began to clear out the ring.

Ric Flair's music hit -- with Charlotte already in the ring -- though Ric was only there to escort Lacey Evans to the ring, wearing the same robe as Charlotte wore earlier in the night. Charlotte and Evans battled immediately before an angry Flair turned her attention back to the rest of the participants. Mickie James also made her return, coming in at No. 19. Another return came at No. 21 with Alicia Fox, but R-Truth's music hit right after and he announced he was at the wrong Royal Rumble before being pursued by 24/7 title seekers, only to be pinned by Fox to win her the 24/7 belt.

Ripley continued to impress, scoring several eliminations. Belair also continued hanging around despite her No. 2 entry into the match. In the near-elimination spot, Naomi was thrown from the ring but landed on her back with her feet in the air, she then used Belair to climb her way back into the ring. Alexa Bliss entered at No. 27 and as she was preparing to transform as in recent weeks, Ripley eliminated her from behind. Nia Jax entered and she and Baszler went on a run of eliminations to thin the field late before brawling with each other and Jax eventually eliminated Baszler and was the eliminated by Lana before Natalya entered in the No. 30 spot to complete the field.

The final four in the match came down to Natalya, Belair, Flair and Ripley. Belair eliminated Natalya first and then Ripley and Belair teamed up to knock Flair from the match, leaving Ripley and Belair as the final two women in the match. The two battled back and forth in an extended segment with several near eliminations before Belair managed to knock Ripley from the ring with a clothesline to win the match. This was a bit of a rocky match at parts, many of the bigger issues being matters of production than in-ring, though some stretches dragged a bit. Belair is a great choice to win and coming down to Belair and Ripley showed how bright the future of the women's division is for WWE going forward. Belair also set a record for longest entry in a women's Rumble match. Bianca Belair won the women's Royal Rumble in 56:49 -- Grade: B

Men's Royal Rumble: No. 1 entrant Edge attacked No. 2 entrant Randy Orton before Orton even made it to the ring. They continued to brawl around ringside until Sami Zayn entered at No. 3 and took out the leg of Edge, helping Orton work him over. Mustafa Ali joined in on the attack at No. 4, with Edge facing increasingly long odds until Jeff Hardy entered to help even things up.The first elimination came when Dolph Ziggler entered the match and immediately eliminated Jeff Hardy. Carlito was the first surprise entrant, coming into the match at No. 8. Orton was shown being helped to the back by officials, limping after the attack of Edge. Damien Priest was the first NXT star to make his way into the match, coming in at No. 14 and making his first appearance in a Royal Rumble. The Miz destroyed Bad Bunny's DJ booth on his way to the ring, leading Bunny to walk to the ring, distracting Miz and John Morrison and allowing Priest to eliminate both. Bunny then hit a crossbody from the top rope to the outside on Miz and Morrison. Daniel Bryan, one of the favorites coming into the match, made his entrance at No. 17. Kane returned at No. 18, chokeslamming many of the current entrants and eliminating Dolph Ziggler and Ricochet before being tossed by Priest.

Bobby Lashley made a big entrance, running through Dominik Mysterio and Priest, eliminating both before a big showdown with Big E that saw both men brawl and exchange counters before the surprise entrance of The Hurricane, who was quickly tossed by Lashley and Big E. With Edge still in the match, Christian entered the match at No. 24. Christian helped Riddle, Bryan and Big E eliminate Lashley. Big E was eliminated from the match when Omos reached into the ring and pulled him to the floor. Omos also eliminated Rey Mysterio, giving some big help to AJ Styles.

Seth Rollins made his return at No. 29, his first match since Survivor Series, after which he took time off to be with Becky Lynch for the birth of their child. Braun Strowman was the final entrant into the match. Strowman went on a run of eliminations, bringing the final six to Rollins, Riddle, Edge, Christian, Bryan and Strowman -- although Orton had not actually been eliminated when he was taken to the back. Rollins eliminated Bryan after hiding out on the outside of the ring and then eliminated Riddle to bring the match down to Strowman, Rollins, Edge and Christian. Edge and Christian worked together to eliminate Strowman and Edge eliminated Rollins, seemingly winning the match, but Orton ran back into the match and hit an RKO. Orton's attempt to eliminate Edge backfired, however, as Edge reversed and tossed Orton to the floor, winning the Rumble from the No. 1 spot, lasting more than 58 minutes to win his second Royal Rumble. This dragged far less than the women's Royal Rumble earlier and didn't feel like it relied on as many gimmicky surprise entrants, though there were some. Edge was an interesting choice and told a great story as he's taking one more ride to WrestleMania and a shot at a world championship. Seoul Music Awards: BTS Wins 6 Trophies, RM, Jungkook and V Deliver Speech Virtually - News18

K-pop superstars BTS did not attend this year's Seoul Music Awards, but swept the show anyway. The boyband won 6 awards, including the Daesang (Grand Prize). They also won the Best Album Award, Best Song Award, the K-Wave Award, the WhosFandom Award, and a Bonsang (Main Award).

The 30th edition of the prestigious awards show was held on January 31. Known as the Korean Grammy Awards, the awards are based on numerous albums released during the year. Predictably, all the popular K-pop stars like BTS, BlackPink, EXO and GOT7 were among nominees.

The Bangtan Boys couldn't attend the ceremony, but delivered their acceptance speech virtually.

This marks the fourth year in a row that the Grammy nominated group has won a Daesang from the Seoul Music Awards. Check out the full list of winners here.

The awards ceremony began with the red carpet at 5pm KST (1:30pm IST). The main event commenced at 6.60pm KST (3:20pm IST), reported IBTimes SG. The event is organized by Sports Seoul, under the supervision of the Seoul Music Awards committee.

It was a star-studded event with the presence of some of the big names from the K-pop industry. The main award featured K-pop girl group Twice, Seventeen, NCT 127, Aespa, TXT, Treasure, Enhypen and more. Fans shared screenshots of stars walking the red carpet.

The award show that started in 1990 awards a series of diverse genres including ballad, hip hop, R&B along with original soundtracks for K-dramas and films. This year, the award show was conducted without the presence of a live audience and was live-streamed all over the world.

How Zack Snyder's Justice League Posters Tell The Snyder Cut Story - Screen Rant

The new posters for Zack Snyder's Justice League capture the movie's story, in more ways than one. The Snyder Cut's upcoming HBO Max debut was officially announced on May 20th, 2020, but other than confirmation that it would be arriving sometime in 2021, there have been few specific details on the time frame — until the Justice League Snyder Cut release date was officially confirmed for March 18, 2021, announced through a collection of posters released online by Snyder.

Snyder also captioned the three posters with the words "Fallen", "Risen" and "Reborn." What's particularly notable about the posters, and the captions that Snyder assigned to each of them, is that they sequentially give the essence of the Snyder Cut's story on two different levels. On one level, they encapsulate the essence of what is known about the story told within the Snyder Cut, and on another, they also illustrate the movie's one-of-a-kind journey to finally being released.

Continue scrolling to keep reading Click the button below to start this article in quick view.

RELATED: Justice League: How Lex Luthor Could Matter To Batman's Knightmare Future

Relating to the story told by the film, the posters follow the story of the Knightmare future and Darkseid's conquest of Earth, with the Fallen poster depicting a shattered Justice League logo. The Risen poster represents the resurrection of Superman after his death in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justiceexemplified in the tattered Justice League flag similar to the image of the Man of Steel's cape associated with The Death of Superman. The Reborn poster represents the League, now including the revived Superman, forming to defend Earth against Darkseid's invasion, and standing as a force for good.

Zack Snyders Justice League Snyder Cut Posters

Looking at the posters on the second level, the Fallen poster is meant to represent the infamous reshoots and creative overhaul Justice League was subject to following Snyder's departure from the movie, along with its demise in theaters. The Risen poster stands for the coming release of the Snyder Cut, following an intense push by fans since the theatrical version of Justice League. The Reborn poster, depicting film canisters bearing Snyder's name, captures the augmentation process that the Snyder Cut has undergone since being greenlit, which is allowing elements that would not have been present in the film to now be re-integrated. These include Jared Leto's Joker, previously not in the movie at all and added into the film after Snyder's additional photography, along with other big elements like the OG Steppenwolf design and Superman's black suit.

This isn't the first time Snyder has presented his movie's story in symbolic terms either. Snyder previously released a T-shirt through Ink to the People depicting his five-movie DCEU plan in a coded puzzle. Given that and the social media teases Snyder made in the aftermath of Justice League's release, it isn't surprising that Snyder would continue adding layered messages in the Snyder Cut's marketing.

With the Snyder Cut landing on March 18th, the three posters have kicked off the full media blitz for a superhero film that many believed would never see the light of day. That fact alone ensures that the marketing for the movie will be as much of an anomaly as the movie itself is. What lies ahead between now and March 18th will be fascinating to see, especially after Snyder has begun the final rollout for Zack Snyder's Justice League with allegorical representations of both the movie's story and the story of the movie.

BLACKPINK Performs at First-Ever Virtual Livestream Concert - Papermag

On Saturday night, K-pop group BLACKPINK aired their very first virtual live show. And the girls brought their A-game with breathtaking first performances of their songs from The Album.

When ticket sales opened, the band already made 11.7 billion won or over $10.5 million. On the night of the concert, about 280,000 fans from all over the world (except China) tuned in, which is about the equivalent of 5 performances in a 50,000-person stadium.

During The Show, Rosé, Lisa, Jennie and Jisoo performed on special stages, including solo setups for their own individual performances. Jisoo sang her rendition of Tove Lo's "Habits," Jennie sang her single "Solo," Lisa did a cover of Doja Cat's "Say So," and Rosé dropped a whole new song — her much-awaited, very first solo song — "Gone." And the live band added that much more of a live show effect, making fans feel more as if they were actually attending an in-person concert.

The Show was the first-of-its-kind collaboration with YouTube Music, with the paid membership-only access to the live concert. And while it was a one-night-only event, YouTube's going to be rebroadcasting it eight more times.

If you haven't bought tickets and can't watch The Show, there's still more to look forward to that BLACKPINK has been teasing. See the teaser for Rosé's full solo project below.

Selena Gomez touches on her plans for ‘Baila Conmigo’

Renowned actor and singer Selena Gomez recently sat down to detail her future plans for her second Spanish single Baila Conmigo.

The singer shed some light on her plans during a press release and according to People magazine she was quoted saying, "With 'Baila Conmigo,' I want to get everyone dancing.”

“The video portrays the sense of isolation we all are experiencing right now and how music truly does connect us all no matter where we are in the world."

Even Gomez’s producer Tainy touched on his experiences working with the Grammy award winning singer and added, It was a really interesting song for me to work on with Selena since it fuses an authentic reggaeton sound with elements like the plucked electric guitar that lean more pop."

Later on into the press release, Tainy went on to say, “Rauw's melodies captured that essence and complemented Selena's very well. I'm excited for this one!"

For fans surprised by the sudden shift, Gomez spilled the beans behind her desire to create an all-Spanish track during a past interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe.

She claimed at the time, "I feel like it's the perfect timing. Just with all the division in the world, there's something about Latin music that globally just makes people feel things, you know?"

It was a lot of work, and look, you cannot mispronounce anything” even though Gomez feels she “sings better in Spanish.”

At the end of the day, “It is something that needed to be precise, and needed to be respected by the audience I'm going to release this for."

Sources touch on BLACKPINK’s Rose, Lisa’s solo debuts

BLACKPINK’s Rose and Lisa are spreading their wings and an insider has the tea on everything they are up to in preparation for their big solo debuts.

The news was brought forward to Metro UK by an inside source. They claimed, “It is hard to share the details at the moment, but we are working very hard to deliver the best music for our fans. We hope to show our unique own charms, so we hope you look forward to it as well.”

Even going through with their virtual concert during a pandemic ended up being an “immersive experience” according to the insider.

They explained, “We are always discussing to find different ways for our fans from all over the world to enjoy our shows to the fullest while being affected by the current situation. We want to be creative but also have to consider practicality and believe that The Show could be that first big step.”

The source concluded by saying, “As we said before, we prepared many special stages and multiple sets backed by detailed production – paying special attention to visual, sound, and other technical stuff – to differentiate our online concert from previous concerts we’ve done offline. Hopefully viewers can notice that and we are super excited to see their reaction.”

The Meaning Behind Selena Gomez's 'Baila Conmigo' - Nicki Swift

Although Selena Gomez's first Spanish single, "De Una Vez," speaks about overcoming a past relationship, "Baila Conmigo" ("Dance with Me" in English) is all about the energy when a new relationship starts. The song begins with Gomez and Rauw Alejandro singing about the temptations two people feel as they get to know each other on the dance floor. The couple don't speak the same language, but they agree that they don't need to. "Baby, I don't know if you speak any Spanish ... making love without understanding each other is better. We just have to like each other," they flirt, according to Elite Daily. "You want me to fall into temptations ... I don't understand too much, but come here," they continue.

The chorus is all about letting loose on the dance floor and allowing the beat and magnetic pull the couple feels between each other to lead the night. "Dance, dance, dance with me. Dance, dance and I'll follow you. Come closer, come get loose. Don't leave me without making me want to come back," they croon.

The video for "Baila Conmigo" follows two people as they express their attraction to each other through dance. Although Gomez and Alejandro are in the video for just a few seconds, it's clear they are just as passionate as the couple in the video.

Justice League: Snyder Cut Confirmed to Have Existed Since 2019 - Screen Rant

The long-anticipated Snyder Cut of Justice League has been confirmed to have existed since at least 2019. Justice League, the first team-up film of the DCEU, was originally released in 2017 to mixed reviews. The production had been somewhat beleaguered, with Zack Snyder, the movie’s original director, stepping down after a family tragedy. Joss Whedon was brought on to oversee the post-production of the film, and his changes were said to have altered much of Snyder’s original vision for the story.

Due to these rumored changes, fans began speculating over the so-called "Snyder Cut" of Justice League. Rumors swirled that an entirely different version of the film existed, fueled by reports such as the fact that full characters, like Darkseid and Martian Manhunter, had been removed from the final version of the film. Still, despite viral support for #ReleaseTheSnyderCut and hints from Snyder himself, not much was known about that version, let alone if it actually existed. When HBO Max announced that Zack Snyder’s Justice League would be released on the streaming platform, Snyder Cut believers were validated. Even then, with the director conducting reshoots, it was hard to tell how much of his version truly existed before production began in 2020.

Now, fans know that Zack Snyder’s Justice League did exist in near-complete form, thanks to the movie’s visual effects producer Tamara Watts Kent. In a reflection posted to Instagram, the VFX director wrote that she had first watched the legendary Snyder Cut in black and white in 2019. What she saw was "over 3 hours long, full of previsualization and work in progress effects along with finished visual effects." She added that "At times Zack had to clarify what I was looking at," but she was fully able to follow the story.

She went on to explain more of the process, which clarified further how much of the Snyder Cut was finished and how much her team had to edit or create. This involved researching "to see if it was a previous Zack final to finish the full frame, or a work in progress shot from the past that could be unarchived and finished, or a brand new shot." In the end, she reported, the VFX team "delivered over 2,500 shots in 7 months."

With Zack Snyder’s Justice League on its way, the fans who have believed in the Snyder Cut all along probably don’t need this extra bit of confirmation that their theory was correct. However, an immense amount of work has clearly gone into the HBO Max version of Justice League. However, it sounds like this post-production work is only building on top of the framework that Snyder had already built, so true believers in Zack Snyder’s Justice League will absolutely be vindicated.

I don’t understand too much, but come here

Kiss mе just once

So I’ll have a reason to see you again (Rauw)

Verse 1: Rauw Alejandro & Selena Gomez

Sincerely, let’s let this flow

Don’t keep thinking about it

We have the whole night for you to show me face to face

Everything that you feel

Smells to me like there’s nothing innocent about you (Yah, yah)

How do I tell you I don’t want to talk about love?

That if it’s with you, I have to think better

Chill out, leave it like that, I want to stay here

Stick yourself to me, come to me

Hyun Bin's side denies the new $4.3 million USD luxury villa he bought last year is a marriage home - allkpop

On January 30, one media outlet reported that actor Hyun Bin recently purchased a luxurious, 4th-floor villa in Gyeonggi-do, Gu-ri.

The villa is located in a neighborhood in Gu-ri well-known as an eco-friendly, green neighborhood right in the vicinity of Seoul. Celebrities such as J.Y. Park are known to live in the neighborhood. The villa purchased by Hyun Bin is reported to be a 4th floor penthouse. Hyun Bin purchased the entire 4th floor villa for a total of 4.8 billion KRW (~ $4.3 million USD). The actor finished moving into the villa in December of last year.

The media report also raised speculations that Hyun Bin's decision to purchase the luxurious villa may indicate the actor's intentions to marry soon. Earlier this year, Hyun Bin publicly admitted to his relationship with his former co-star Son Ye Jin, garnering massive attention.

However, Hyun Bin's side has since stepped up to deny these speculations with a curt statement. "The reports which claim that Hyun Bin purchased a marriage home for him and Son Ye Jin are not true."

Meanwhile, it was also revealed that one of Hyun Bin's neighbors in the luxury 4th-floor villa is actress Oh Yeon Seo. Oh Yeon Seo is known to have purchased a lower-story level villa in the same complex.
