In the visual, each member strike posts on various stunning sets as their bold, EDM-inspired debut single plays. “Three times, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven / You make me feel like eleven,” they sing. Scenes of choreography are also included, with the preview ending on a shot of former IZ*ONE member Jang Won-young smiling into the camera.

Their agency Starship Entertainment has also unveiled concept images of the girl group in anticipation of their upcoming debut. Each member is seen posing among a maze of mirrors in their individual shots, along with a final group shot with the entire girl group leaning confidently against a wall

The brand-new Starship girl group was first revealed on November 1, alongside the launch of the act’s social media pages. The label had also released sleek animation video of IVE’s official logo. Captioned “I HAVE___”, it seems to suggest that the group’s name is based on the phrase.

Maxwell and Ashanti Throw It Back With 2021 Soul Train Awards Medleys - Vulture

Maxwell did a little sumthin’ sumthin’ at the 2021 Soul Train Awards, where he performed a medley of hits after being recognized with the Living Legend Award. The neo-soul pioneer took the stage for an extra-suave, 11-minute performance that included “… Til the Cops Come Knockin’,” “Bad Habits,” “Lifetime,” “Sumthin’ Sumthin’ (Mellosmoothe),” new single “Off,” and “Ascension.” Between getting the crowd to stand and sing along during “Sumthin’ Sumthin’,” Maxwell added a line to the song about Soul Train’s 50th anniversary. When he accepted the award from Album of the Year winner Jazmine Sullivan, at Harlem’s Apollo Theater, Maxwell reflected on growing up in low-income housing in New York City. “The radio was the window to my dreams,” he said. “And to be able to stand here before all of you and to be part of the community of R&B and soul music is truly the award that I’ve always wished for, but this literally is blowing my entire mind.” The recognition came ahead of his upcoming album blacksummers’NIGHT, the third in a trilogy, which is currently set for spring 2022.

Ashanti also rained a career-spanning medley on the crowd in honor of her earning the night’s Lady of Soul Award. Backed by four shimmering, masked backup dancers, the R&B hitmaker ran through her songs “Happy,” “Rain on Me,” “The Way That I Love You,” and “Foolish,” and she brought out Fat Joe for “What’s Luv?” and a very enthusiastic Ja Rule for “Always on Time.” She’d performed with both rappers recently at their Verzuz battle as well, where she did “What’s Luv?” and Ja Rule’s “Mesmerize.” Ashanti’s performance came after she accepted her achievement award from performer Normani. “Some people may look at my journey and think it was easy. It was not,” Ashanti said. “My career has been filled with so many peaks and valleys, and it definitely wasn’t easy.” She also mentioned that 2022 will mark the 20th anniversary of her self-titled debut album, and she’s set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

BTS Bring Out Megan Thee Stallion for Live Debut of ‘Butter’ Remix in Los Angeles - Rolling Stone

BTS welcomed Megan Thee Stallion to the stage for the first-ever live performance of their “Butter” remix on night two of the Korean outfit’s four-night stand at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles Sunday, Nov. 28.

The performance was captured on a handful of fan-shot videos, with BTS breezing through the first bit of the song on a light-up platform that extended out from the main stage. Megan then appeared on that main stage, rolled through her verse, then strolled down to join BTS for the song’s big finale.

“Butter” first arrived in May, and quickly landed at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart (BTS’ July follow-up, “Permission to Dance,” achieved the same feat). Megan Thee Stallion’s “Butter” remix arrived in August, although not without a bit of drama, as it was released after the rapper won a court battle against her record label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, whom she claimed was blocking the release of the track.

BTS have two more Permission to Dance on Stage gigs scheduled in Los Angeles, on Dec. 1 and 2. The concerts cap off a massive year for the recent Rolling Stone cover stars, who not only scored their two Number Ones with “Butter” and “Permission to Dance,” but featured on a third, Coldplay’s “My Universe.” The group also picked up their second Grammy nomination, with “Butter” earning a look for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

But despite the group’s huge pop achievements this year, BTS were shut out of the major Grammy categories, something RM may have been alluding to when he said he still felt Korean artists faced an “invisible wall,” during a press conference Sunday (per The Korea Herald). “We secured the AMAs’ artist of the year and a Grammy nomination, which means a lot to an artist,” he said. “Still, I feel there is an invisible wall, such as our identity as an artist who began its career in South Korea and language limitations.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home ticket rush crashes AMC and Fandango's websites - CNET

nowayhome

Spider-Man: No Way Home is crashing sites everywhere.

Marvel

Fans of Marvel and the MCU may remember that the release of tickets for Avengers: Endgame did a huge number on cinema ticket sites across the US in 2019. It looks like Spider-Man: No Way Home did precisely the same thing late Sunday, with fans online claiming both AMC and Fandango were down as a result of the demand.

As of early Monday, AMC, Atom, Fandango, Cinemark and Alamo Drafthouse's sites all appeared to be up and running again.

The release of an NFT could be partly to blame. Earlier on Sunday AMC announced that the first 86,000 "AMC Stubs A-List, Premiere, or Investor Connect members" who purchased or reserved tickets for a Dec. 16 showing of Spider-Man would receive an "eco-friendly" Spider-Man NFT for their troubles. Hard to say if this had any impact on the AMC site going down, but it most likely didn't help. AMC and Fandango didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

Beyond AMC, the demand for Spider-Man: No Way Home tickets appeared to be affecting almost every preorder service out there -- people reported that sites like Drafthouse also experienced difficulties.

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade: Where can you watch it outside NYC - MARCA.com

Macy's annual Thanksgiving Parade will take place Thursday, following its hiatus last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The parade will feature 15 giant character balloons, 28 floats, 36 novelty and heritage inflatables, 800-plus clowns, 10 marching bands and nine performance groups and, of course, Santa Claus.

And Baby Yoda is joining the party for the first time.

Balloons

New balloon giants joining the line-up on Thanksgiving Day include Ada Twist, Scientist; Grogu (so-called Baby Yoda from the "The Mandalorian"); and the Pokémon characters Pikachu and Eevee.

Some of the returning balloons will be Astronaut Snoopy, "The Boss Baby," "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," Chase from "Paw Patrol," the Pillsbury Doughboy, Red Titan from "Ryan's World," Papa Smurf from "The Smurfs," Sonic the Hedgehog and SpongeBob SquarePants.

In 2019, strong wind gusts threatened to ground the beloved balloons but it looks like that won't be the case this year.

Storm Team 4 meteorologists say this year's parade weather looks great, with temperatures in the 50s and winds forecasted at 10-12 mph.

Performances

Once again, this year's parade will be star-studded but there will be no kids under the age of 12 because they've only recently joined the list of people eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.

Marching bands that had been slated to join the 2020 parade will be participating this year instead, according to Macy's.

Broadway will be represented by the casts of "Six," "Moulin Rouge! The Musical" and "Wicked." The Rockettes will be there, as will the cast of the upcoming NBC live production of "Annie."

"For our 95th celebration, Macy's has created a spectacle to remember featuring a dazzling array of high-flying balloons, animated floats and incredible performers. We can't wait to help New York City and the nation kick-off the holiday season with the return of this cherished tradition," Will Coss, executive producer of the parade, said in a statement.

There will be new floats led by the cast of "Girls5eva" - Sara Bareilles, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Paula Pell and Busy Philipps - Nelly and Jordan Fisher, while Jon Batiste will be on an alligator-themed float celebrating Louisiana's music, food and culture.

Other celebrities on hand include Carrie Underwood, Jimmie Allen, Kelly Rowland, Rob Thomas, Kristin Chenoweth, Darren Criss, and Foreigner.

Also on the bill are Andy Grammer, Mickey Guyton, Chris Lane, Miss America Camille Schrier, Muppets from "Sesame Street" and the three past and current hosts of "Blue's Clues" - Steve Burns, Donovan Patton and Josh Dela Cruz.

How and Where to Watch, in NYC and on TV

The Macy's parade has been a traditional holiday season kickoff and spectators often line up a half-dozen deep along the route to cheer about 8,000 marchers, two dozen floats, entertainers and marching bands.

Like in past years, the parade will be televised on WNBC locally, and NBC nationally, from 9 a.m. to noon E.T. on Nov. 25.

Watch the parade live on your browser by clicking here, or tapping the "Live TV" button on your mobile app, and logging in with your TV provider.

Last year, the usual 2 1/2-mile route through crowded Manhattan was scrapped in favor of concentrating events to a one-block stretch of 34th Street in front of the retailer's flagship Manhattan store. Many performances were pre-taped and most of the parade's performers were locally based to cut down on travel. The balloons were tethered to specialized vehicles instead of being controlled by handlers.

This year, viewers can again camp out on the west side of Central Park West from West 75th Street to West 79th Street starting at 6 a.m.

The official parade kicks off at West 77th Street and Central Park West but there's limited to no public viewing here. The parade journeys down from Central Park West to Columbus Circle, turning onto Central Park South, where viewing access is still denied to the public.

Floats will then roll down West 59th Street until it reaches Sixth Avenue, where it will head south to West 38th Street. This stretch features some of the last quality viewing spots, as the parade comes to an end in front of Macy's Herald Square.

The Weeknd pays homage to ‘E.T.’ and ‘Stranger Things’ in new video for ‘Starboy’ track, ‘Die For You’ - NME.com

The Weeknd has dropped a music video for ‘Die For You’, taken from his blockbuster 2016 album ‘Starboy’.

The music video arrived today (November 25) on YouTube. In a distinct homage to the sci-fi film E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial and Netflix show Stranger Things, a young boy resembling The Weeknd – real name Abel Tesfaye – hides out in a garden shed, only to be found by one of the home’s residents, a young girl.

After the two connect, it’s learned that the boy is a telekinetic being on the run from government officials. They later discover his location, leading to a dramatic face-off.

Watch the music video for ‘Die For You’, directed by Christian Breslauer, below.

The music video arrives as part of Tesfaye’s five-year anniversary celebrations of ‘Starboy’ . The artist has also announced a limited-edition collection of streetwear merchandise with Los Angeles-based brand Seventh Heaven.

The five-piece capsule offers fans graphic hoodies, short-sleeve tees, a shoulder bag. It also features premium handmade jackets available in either denim or leather.

All jackets will feature a large padded 3D cross detail on the back, resembling the “Starboy cross” imagery that was prevalent in the album’s art direction.

The collection will drop at 8pm tonight UK time, exclusively on The Weeknd’s official store. Complex reports that the items will range between US$75 to $800 in price.

Yesterday, it was revealed that Tesfaye’s 2020 hit single ‘Blinding Lights’ is now the biggest US Hot 100 song of all time, unseating Chubby Checker’s ‘The Twist’.

Meanwhile, the HBO drama series The Idol – which Tesfaye has co-written and will executive produce –  was recently given the green light with Troye Sivan, among other actors, joining its cast.

Watch French Montana and Lil Tjay Pull Off a Heist in the “Bag Season” Music Video - HYPEBEAST

French Montana debuted his new album They Got Amnesia last week and now, he’s returned with a music video for his single “Bag Season” featuring Lil Tjay.

The visual opens with a high-speed car driving through a glass window. As it turns out, Montana and Tjay have organized a heist of luxury bags.

Working from the backroom of a nightclub, the two rappers emerge to join the party outside.

The duo raps about wanting “all the bags” and in one verse, Montana references sporting a “ski mask like Kanye” did for DONDA.

They Got Amnesia is the fourth full-length album from Montana. Alongside Tjay, the EP packs in features from Drake, John Legend, Rick Ross, Fabolous, Coi Leray, Doja Cat, Saweetie and more.

Earlier this month, Montana released a video with another one of the album’s collaborators. In the video for their track “Panicking,” Montana and Brooklyn rapper Fivio Foreign two pull off a different heist, hijacking stacks of cash from a cargo plane.

In other music news, The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” was named the new Billboard Greatest Song of All Time.

Jurassic World: Dominion hits theatres in June 2022, but the new five minute trailer? That's set 65 million years in the past.

So it's a prologue of sorts -- maybe the most extreme prologue ever made! It's glorious and you can watch below.

This five minute prologue was previously exclusive to IMAX, paired with screenings of F9, and shows the journey of the mosquito used to clone dinosaurs in the Jurassic World/Jurassic Park universe.

Jurassic World: Dominion is being directed by Colin Trevorrow, and will also star Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard from previous movies in the Jurassic World series. Incredibly, Jurassic World Dominion is bringing back some of the cast from the original Steven Spielberg classic Jurassic Park including Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern.

Grammy Awards: Olivia Rodrigo dominates nominations for 2022 - BBC News

Olivia Rodrigo has emerged as the front-runner for next year's Grammy Awards, with nominations in all four of the main categories.

The 18-year-old is up for best album, best new artist, record of the year and song of the year, for Drivers License.

She faces competition from Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X in all of those categories, except best new artist.

Abba also received their first ever Grammy nomination in the record of the year category.

The Swedish band are recognised for their bittersweet comeback single, I Still Have Faith In You, which was released in September.

Taylor Swift also picks up her second consecutive album of the year nomination, for Evermore. She won the award earlier this year for its companion album, Folklore.

British musicians are relatively thin on the ground, but Ed Sheeran's Bad Habits is up for song of the year; while Arlo Parks and Glass Animals make the shortlist for best new artist.

Coldplay also receive their 36th Grammy nod, for the single Higher Power, which is in the running for best pop group performance.

Jon Batiste

Although relatively unknown in the UK, the jazz keyboardist Jon Batiste leads the nominations, with 11 in total - recognising both his eclectic solo album We Are and the soundtrack to the Pixar film, Soul.

Justin Bieber, Doja Cat and H.E.R. follow with eight nominations apiece. Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo are close behind with seven.

Meanwhile, Korean pop sensation BTS miss out on the main categories, receiving a single nomination for pop duo/group performance.

The group's monster hit Butter, which spent 10 weeks at number one in the US, is nominated alongside Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga's I Get A Kick Out Of You, Justin Bieber's Lonely, Coldplay's Higher Power and Doja Cat's Kiss Me More.

This year's ballot also makes Jay-Z the most-nominated artist in Grammy history.

He had been tied with legendary record producer Quincy Jones on 80, but surges ahead with three new nominations, including two in the best rap song category, for collaborations with DMX and Kanye West.

The nominees were announced at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning, with help from Billie Eilish, H.E.R., Eurovision winners Måneskin and BTS themselves.

With almost 22,000 songs and albums submitted for consideration, the shortlists in the main categories were expanded from eight to 10 nominees for the first time.

"We're living in a time of extraordinary growth in music," explained Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason, Jr. "Over 60,000 songs a day are being released. With so much more music available. There's a lot more excellence to recognise and celebrate."

The Grammys also made sweeping changes to their rules for 2022, after The Weeknd was controversially shut out of this year's awards.

Organisers subsequently scrapped dozens of anonymous committees that had the ability to overrule votes in 72 of the 86 categories, allowing rank-and-file voters to choose the shortlists instead.

Veiled in secrecy, the committees had been accused of vote-rigging, favouritism and racism. Several high profile artists including Drake, Frank Ocean and The Weeknd himself, boycotted recent ceremonies in protest.

The change seems to have boosted the chances of artists with broad appeal, such as Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga, whose duets album Love For Sale generated six nominations.

Who is Olivia Rodrigo?

Olivia Rodrigo
Stefan Kohli

This time last year, Olivia Rodrigo was best known as the star of the Disney series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

Then, in January, a few weeks before her 18th birthday, she released the lovelorn piano ballad Drivers License - which became an instant, but organic, global hit.

The teenager followed it up with Sour, a debut album inspired by the same heartbreak (allegedly her Disney co-star Joshua Bassett).

Showcasing her piercing, precise lyrics and precociously accomplished songwriting, it saw her hailed as "pop's newest icon" and hit number one on both sides of the Atlantic.

In its incessantly hooky choruses, Sour embraced Rodrigo's musical inspirations, from Taylor Swift to Paramore. Both artists later received writing credits for their influence, and therefore share her album of the year nomination.

If Rodrigo sweeps all of the "big four" categories next January, she'll be only the third person in history to do so, after Christopher Cross and Billie Eilish.

But she faces stiff competition from Bruno Mars' impeccably-crafted soul band Silk Sonic and, of course, from Swift herself.

Who didn't get a nomination?

Dua Lipa

This year, the Grammys are actually recognising a 13-month time period, from 1 September, 2020, to 30 September, 2021.

Even so, that rules out some of pop's biggest new albums, including Adele's 30, Ed Sheeran's = and Abba's Voyage.

Also absent is The Weeknd, who is refusing to participate in the Grammys after being snubbed last year. Ariana Grande and Doja Cat also declined to submit their duets with the star for awards, in an apparent show of solidarity. But Kanye West didn't get the memo: His single Hurricane, which features The Weeknd and Lil Baby, made it onto the best melodic rap song shortlist.

Taylor Swift also withheld her re-recorded version of Fearless from consideration. The original, released in 2008, is itself an album of the year winner.

And Dua Lipa failed to submit her 4x-platinum chart hit Levitating, apparently to avoid recognising featured rapper DaBaby after he made homophobic comments earlier this year.

Country star Morgan Wallen also failed to receive a nomination after being filmed using a racial slur earlier this year.

The singer, whose album Dangerous is the biggest-selling country record of 2021, was ruled ineligible at the Academy of Country Music Awards, but had been allowed to enter the Grammys, only for voters to pass him over in favour of acts like Chris Stapleton and Sturgill Simpson.

How has the voting changed this year?

Kacey Musgraves

The Grammys are ostensibly decided by the 12,000 voting members of the Recording Academy.

But for decades they were overseen by a shadowy group of "secret committees", who narrowed down the top 20 finalists in each category to the final shortlist of between five and eight nominees.

Those committees were accused of corruption and insider dealing, most notably by ousted Recording Academy CEO Deborah Dugan, who said votes had been overruled and artists promoted onto shortlists without merit (the Academy called her allegations "categorically false").

It came to a head this time last year, when R&B singer The Weeknd was overlooked in the nominations list, despite his single Blinding Lights having become one of the best-selling songs of the century.

"The Grammys remain corrupt," he tweeted in response. "You owe me, my fans, and the industry transparency."

In April, the Grammys announced the committees would be scrapped; with regular voters getting to decide the shortlists in every category - including the "big four": Song of the year, record of the year, best new artist and best album.

Even so, the awards have managed to stir up controversy, thanks to a separate group of committees: The steering committees, who decide which prizes artists are eligible for.

The Nashville screening committee decided that Star-Crossed, the latest record by country superstar (and 2018 album of the year winner) Kacey Musgraves was actually a pop album, not country.

Musgraves responded on Instagram with her middle fingers raised. "You can take the girl out of the country (genre), but you can't take the country out of the girl," she wrote.

In the end, the album failed to receive a single nomination in the more competitive pop field. The single Camera Roll, however, sneaked into the best country song shortlist.
