BTS: Is RM dating someone since 2019? Bangtan leader issues clarification - Hindustan Times

BTS leader RM has reacted to his dating rumours. The rapper took to Weverse and responded to the claims.

BTS leader RM clarifies dating rumours.
Published on Dec 31, 2021 03:22 PM IST

BTS leader RM and his agency Big Hit Music shut down claims suggesting that RM is dating someone. The rumours stemmed from a YouTube video posted on Thursday.

As reported by Soompi, a video claimed that the BTS leader was dating a woman of his same age. The channel also claimed that he has been in a relationship with her since 2019.

Big Hit on Friday issued a statement clarifying the claims. “The dating rumours involving RM are not true,” the agency said. Shortly after, RM took to Weverse and clarified his stand as well.

“I don't know the person at all and the poodle is my friend's poodle,” he wrote on Weverse, as translated by BTS fan account @BTStranslation_ on Twitter.

The speculation comes shortly after the agency had to shut down dating rumours about Jungkook. Earlier this week, a YouTuber claimed that Jungkook was dating Yumi's Cells star Lee Yoo Bi. In a video, the YouTuber claimed that Lee Yoo Bi is a fan of Jungkook and has been engaging in ‘lovestagram’ by sharing purple hearts on her Instagram account, a colour mostly associated with BTS. He video also pointed out that Jungkook's older brother and Lee Yoo Bi’s younger sister follow each other on the platform.

However, Big Hit clarified that the claims are false. Lee Yoo Bi's agency Y-Bloom Entertainment also issued a statement to shut down claims. “That’s a groundless [rumour]. Lee Yoo Bi and Jungkook’s dating news make no sense. They’ve never met, and they don’t know each other. Among the BTS members, Lee Yoo Bi knew Suga, but that was a long time ago. We don’t even know if they’re in touch right now,” the statement read.

A few weeks ago, even V was subjected to dating rumours. However the agency clarified that he is not seeing anyone.

BTS members are currently on a break from work. RM, Jin and Suga are recovering from Covid-19 whereas J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook are busy with their personal life. Despite the break, BTS members have been engaging with fans on various social media platforms.

Dec. 29 (UPI) -- South Korean boy band NCT 127 is giving a glimpse of its new music video.

The K-pop group, a subunit of the boy band NCT, released a preview of its video for the song "Sticker (Will Not Fear Remix)" on Wednesday.

The preview shows the members of NCT 127 on a Western-inspired set and features colorful, kaleidoscope-like images.

Snowdrop Episode 3 Release Date, Predictions, Where To Watch Officially? - Omnitos

The much-awaited Kdrama, Snowdrop starring Jung Hae-in & Jisoo as leads have finally started airing! The melodrama which is slated to have a total of 16 episodes revolves around the love story of a spy and student in the backdrop of the 1987 democracy movement in South Korea. 2 episodes have already aired so let’s look at what to expect from the Snowdrop episode 3.

The Cast

Snowdrop has a star-studded cast, to say the least. From the charming Jung Hae-in playing Im Soo-ho as the undercover North Korean spy to Jisoo from Blackpink as Eun Young-ro who falls in love with him instantly.

While we also get Yoo In-na of Goblin fame as Kang Chung-ya and Kim Hye-Yoon playing important roles. Veteran actors Yoon Se-ah, Heo Joon-Ho & Park Sung-Woo are also included in Snowdrop’s stellar cast.

The first 2 episodes themselves show is filled with good chemistry. The leads interactions are cute. Though Snowdrop episode 3 onwards we may see bolder scenes.

Cast

Plot Brief

The main leads live in two entirely different worlds. Im Soo-ho / Ri Tae-san is an undercover North Korean spy while Eun is a bubbly freshman student. She falls for him at first sight! Meanwhile, Soo is in the middle of a grave mission.

Snowdrop promises to be thrilling because we also get fast & smart as South Korean detectives who easily identify Soo and go after him. Surprisingly, he escapes right into the dorm Eun stays at. Here begins a tale of love & courage where while trying to protect him, Eun & Soo get close.

Till now we have been shown a glimpse of their college life & public scenarios. Snowdrop episode 3 will be the turning point with some truths being revealed.

Recap Of Episodes 1 & 2

The episode starts with a view of the cheerful Hosoo Women’s University dorms. With girls going about doing their daily activities till they come to a standstill due to an announcement. And then resume a few seconds later as if nothing happened. There seems to be some sort of tension which we understand after being shown the political backdrop as well as a strict warden.

Outside it is told that South Korea is under an authoritative regime to the great dissatisfaction of its citizens who have taken to the streets in protest. A girl from the dorm also seems to be in it but has to hide the fact in fear of being arrested. Within the ruling party itself, there seems to be an ongoing rivalry amidst the rising discontent in the public there also seems to a controversy involving North Korea.

Im Soo , the charming male lead is a student who has come from Germany to Korea to complete his thesis, but in reality, is a North Korean spy. Details of the mission are not known, but we do know that the South Korean cops are looking for a spy who they were chasing in Germany & is most likely in Seoul now.

It doesn’t take long to connect the dots and Soo is soon a suspect, being monitored by the cops. Unbeknownst to him, he continues his mission and plays his part as a student well, his dorm mates even take him together to a group date. Here is where the two worlds collide. Eun and Soo both seem interested in each other, but the date doesn’t go the way they want.

However, just by chance, they meet each other in a shop selling records,  and it’s clear that they are interested. Though of course, it’s short-lived since Soo has to take their target a professor, but the police catch up with them. A chase ensues. 2 out of the 3 including Soo manages to escape, but since he’s injured, he barely manages to get into the girl’s dorm. Coincidentally the dorm he enters is Eun’s.

Meanwhile, the cops too have realized he’s in the dorm and head there. The head of the dorm though is a ruthless woman who doesn’t allow the cops to just saunter into a girls dorm and orders them all to lock their rooms. A heated debate ensues where the cops are forced to bring a warrant before checking the rooms.

soo

This buys enough time for Eun & the girls to hide Soo, mistaking him for a protestor. Soo whose is now awake goes along with it since there seems no other option. For now, they hide him in the bath. The cops despite their efforts fail to find him but monitor the region. The North Korean captive they caught refuses to answer & commits suicide.

This makes them even more desperate to find Soo. While the girls manage to talk the manager of the dorm into helping them hide Soo in a secluded part of the dorm. Snowdrop episode 3 will show the leads getting closer, but also them vs the government.

What To Expect From Episode 3

Considering the political backdrop of the plot & our main lead being a spy there is quite a lot of drama expected to unfold. The first 2 episodes had a lot to unpack as it is and no time was wasted to begin a cat and mouse hunt.

It is clear from the preview itself that Soo will not be able to escape easily. But what is gonna be more exciting is to see both Eun & Soo accept their feeling and delve deeper. Angst should be expected cause for how long can Soo possibly hide his true identity when the cops are on his back?

One should expect more chases & anxiety-inducing situations in episode 3. Apart from this, we should be able to see some cute romantic development. It would be great to understand more about the political situation and what the motive of the spies is?

Where To Watch Snowdrop Episode 3

Snowdrop has done an excellent job in setting a thrilling tone for the drama. Tune in on 25th December to Snowdrop’s episode 3 on Hotstar (using VPN) to find out!

Winners Of The 2021 KBS Entertainment Awards - soompi

Hosted by Kim Sung Joo, Moon Se Yoon, and Han Sun Hwa, the 2021 KBS Entertainment Awards took place on December 25!

Moon Se Yoon won the Daesang (Grand Prize) this year for the first time ever in his career. He has been active on several KBS programs this year, including “2 Days & 1 Night Season 4,” “Godfather,” and “Trot Magic.”

In his winning speech, he thanked his family, staff, and various senior and junior colleagues, including Kim Seon Ho, his castmate on “2 Days & 1 Night Season 4,” who stepped down from the show earlier this year following a controversy. Moon Se Yoon said, “This morning, Santa Claus came and went for my kids, but I didn’t know he would give me something as well. People around me often told me that I don’t have luck when it comes to awards, but I was okay as long as I enjoyed good luck with people.”

He continued, “Even as I say this, I wonder if I can continue working with the weight of this award on my shoulders. I prayed last night. I didn’t even want to hear my name called in a dream, but I will overcome this weight and continue working. Last year was my debut at the end-of-year awards, where I received an award for the first time. I was able to receive awards after I’d met the ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ team. At the time, we filmed in advance because of COVID-19, so this is my first time accepting an award in front of so many people. I want to thank all those people whom I wasn’t able to thank in person. Thank you to my agency CEO, Han Sung Ho, and the staff.”

He concluded, “Even though he can’t be with us, I am also grateful to Kim Seon Ho. Thank you to Kim Sook, who helped me a lot in the past. He’s not here right now, but I also once asked Shin Dong Yup the secret to a long career in variety. He said, ‘You don’t have to worry. You’re an undervalued blue chip.’ Because of him, I want to become a senior who shares warm words with undervalued juniors. Thank you to my wife, my daughter, and my son. I want to tell my late father, ‘You can raise a congratulatory glass tonight.'”

BTS’ Suga Tests Positive for Covid-19 - Rolling Stone

For the second time in a month, a major K-pop star has tested positive for the coronavirus. On Friday, BTS’ management company reported that Suga, aka Min Yoon-gi, had become infected with Covid-19.

According to Big Hit Music, Suga had returned to South Korea from the U.S. on Dec. 23. Although he had received a second dose of the vaccine in August, he “tested negative for the PCR test taken before traveling to the United States and began his self-quarantine after taking the PCR test upon his return to Korea. He received positive results during quarantine, and there was no contact with the other members,” according to the statement. ” … We will also diligently cooperate with the requests and guidelines of the healthcare authorities.”

Big Hit Music did not specify whether Suga was infected with the Delta or Omicron variants, in particular.

BTS had performed several shows in California in late November. According to Big Hit, Suga had been in the U.S for unnamed “personal engagements” after those shows. With BTS now on hiatus, Suga has continued working on side projects. This week, a collaboration with Juice WRLD, “Girl of My Dreams,” was released on the late rapper’s posthumous album, Fighting Demons. In an interview with Vogue Korea, Suga insisted, however, “I think I’ll be BTS until I die.”

The news follows a report last month that Lalisa Manobal — Lisa from the K-pop group Blackpink — had also tested positive for the virus.

BTS Teases ‘7FATES: CHAKHO’ Project With Mysterious CCTV Live Footage: Watch - Billboard

BTS is starting to dabble in new forms of storytelling for their fans. On Monday (Dec. 20), 34 minutes of live CCTV video of the group’s seven members — Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — was uploaded to the official BTS YouTube channel. But unlike a music video or a vlog, the video in question followed the Bangtan Boys through CCTV footage to promote their upcoming 7FATES: CHAKHO project.

In the footage, each member of the group leisurely wanders in various spaces, such as bedrooms, dance practice rooms and hallways. The septet appears in the CCTV footage, but everyone mysteriously vanishes without a trace and leaves behind shimmering green particles where they once were throughout the video.

“Where did everyone go?” the video’s description reads, with links to all of the 7FATES social pages.

Ahead of the CCTV footage, BTS released a short film Dec. 19 with wistful instrumentals that featured the guys in a dark setting reaching out for a guiding, bright light. By the end of the video, RM is left holding the bright light, which explodes as all seven members are featured in the final scene and “7FATES” appears above them.

In November, BTS’ label, HYBE, announced plans to release original stories through Korean social platform Navier Webtoon. 7 FATES: CHAKHO with BTS will be released in 10 countries on Jan. 14, at 7 p.m. ET. Concept and group photos, posters and an official teaser for the project will arrive between Jan. 2 through Jan. 14.

Despite yet another year marred by worldwide uncertainty and doubt due to the ongoing pandemic, we can at least count on NCT for some semblance of normalcy in our lives with the release of album number three, ‘Universe’. Boasting 13 brand-new tracks performed by intermixtures of 21 members across the group’s many sub-units, ‘Universe’ is not just NCT’s concluding record for an awe-inspiring year, but also a cohesive amalgamation of the sound we have come to know and love from NCT 127, NCT Dream and WayV, as well as the group as a whole.

Title track ‘Universe (Let’s Play Ball)’ brings together Shotaro, Mark, Jeno, Doyoung, Jungwoo, YangYang, Jaemin, Xiaojun and Haechan for a groovy number. As expected of an NCT lead single, ‘Universe (Let’s Play Ball)’ is incredibly layered in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it kind of way – from the layered vocal arrangement and forthright hip-hop beats that sit front and centre to soaring synth flourishes that take you straight back to the ’90s in the background.

But for all the things that are working for the track, it seems that SM’s prolific in-house producer Kenzie has chosen to play it safe in favour of an assured hit. Still undoubtedly catchy, but comes off feeling a little formulaic.

On the other end of the spectrum, the album’s other lead single, ‘Beautiful’ is largely driven by the 21 members’ vocals over a piano riff that’s a lot more upbeat than what one would expect on a winter ballad. It’s immensely reminiscent of the nostalgia-provoking music SM Entertainment was known for in the 2000s – there’s something arresting about an arrangement as sentimental as this.

What makes ‘Beautiful’ even stronger is its lyrics, penned by SM Entertainment mainstay Yoo Young-jin, that tastefully stray away from the edginess that NCT as a whole have built their comfort zone around. “The shining stars when the night comes / And the setting sun, leaving behind the glow,” tender voices unite on the chorus, “They all have their unique colours, beautiful.”

Beyond the title tracks, ‘Universe’ sees each NCT sub-unit deliver songs that make a case for their distinct flavours of music. NCT 127’s ‘Earthquake’ hails from the school of tenacity – seismic beats relentlessly thud against euphonious voices, creating the perfect backdrop for its potent lyrics: “This earthquake that has just begun / The changing domino that destroyed my toes / What we’ve created is a world bigger than infinity, world.”

Meanwhile, WayV come through with a sultrier cut that does well stepping away from the usual in-your-face NCT vibe. ‘Miracle’ also finds its roots in R&B and trap, adopting the same raunchiness present in their previous releases, such as ‘Love Talk’ and ‘Action Figure’. Their sound is one of the most consistent among the various NCT factions, oft expertly produced by LDN Noise.

Last, but definitely not least, is NCT Dream’s ‘Dreaming’, which is an immediate contender for the album’s best track. This seamless dance number unexpectedly weaves music box-like synths with house beats and a trap snare, transforming into a top-notch club banger that drops into a deliciously dirty bassline during the chorus.

Now, let’s move on to all the songs from the various configurations of the rotational NCT U. Top prize here goes to ‘Round&Round’ (Taeil, Ten, Jaehyun, Xiaojun, Haechan and Sungchan), a synthpop bop with an electrifying bass is an infallible recipe for foolproof hits, alongside a line-up of talented main vocalists who immediately take to the next level.

On the flip side, there’s ‘New Axis’ (Taeyong, Mark and YangYang) and ‘Birthday Party’ (Johnny, Johnny, Yuta, Jungwoo, Hendery, Jaemin, Shotaro, Chenle and Jisung). While the former is a brassy and unapologetic proclamation of their power as a group, where the trio of rappers spit about their place in the industry as the “upper echelon”, the latter falters with abrupt shifts in rhythm and flippant lyricism (“Yo, DJ, can we switch it up a bit? / Flip that, switch that / Shawty fine, big facts”) that comes off boorish.

‘Universe’, for better or worse, also offers the obligatory sugar-coated pop tracks: ‘Sweet Dream’ (Taeil, Kun, Jaehyun, Haechan and Chenle) and ‘Vroom’ (Kun, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Hendery, Shotaro, Chenle and Jisung). Both these songs are feel-good and contain that child-like effervescence from a number of NCT songs of old, yet lack the charm that would help it rise above just being lacklustre. In the same vein, ‘Good Night’ also feels like an obligatory, emotive pop-ballad, despite boasting a world-class vocalist line-up of Xiaojun, Renjun, Doyoung and Taeil.

But it’s not all bad on the NCT U side, though. ‘OK!’ (Taeyong, Yuta, Ten, Mark, Hendery, Jeno and YangYang) takes us on a smooth ride atop a trickling R&B melody, as voices melt against each other, paired with raps delivered in a lower register. And there’s also the spry ‘Know How’ (Johnny, Doyoung, Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Jaemin, YangYang and Sungchan), that makes use of a gospel sample to add that necessary edge. Upbeat synths and bright vocals lead the way on this groovy anthem, where they sing of unbridled confidence and camaraderie.

The boyband continue to showcase their versatility (based on their sheer size alone) and strengths as a group, and this album a signifier of greater things to come. But like a double-edged sword, ‘Universe’ also highlights the flaws a rotational group structure can create, with many of the NCT U tracks faltering, especially when compared to ‘NCT 2020 Resonance’. There’s no doubt that the group are able to come together to create an electrifying statement of cosmic proportions, but there seems to be a lot more of the universe out there for them to explore.
