I Can't Stop Yelling About "WandaVision" Episode 7, So Here Are 33 Details I Spotted In The Episode - BuzzFeed

I'm starting the Elizabeth Olsen and Kathryn Hahn Emmy Awards campaign now, who wants to join?

1. First, while Wanda is lying in bed, you can see that the shapes on her comforter are hexagons, which is a nod to the shape of Westview's town limits, aka The Hex.

Disney+ / Marvel

2. Wanda starts talking to a cameraperson and breaking the fourth wall, which is a nod to Modern Family.

Disney+ / Marvel / ABC

3. The colors of Tommy and Billy's clothes in this episode are a nod to the colors of their superhero costumes in the comic books. Tommy always wears green, while Billy's outfit is red.

Disney+ / Marvel

4. Wanda and Vision's house has once again changed to fit with the era they're in, and parts of it resemble the inside of Phil and Claire's house on Modern Family.

Disney+ / Marvel / ABC

Looks like Wanda and Vision don't have the broken step Phil Dunphy was usually dealing with.

5. The kitchen also looks similar to Phil and Claire's kitchen on Modern Family, and there's even a nod to Claire's obsession with having Haley, Luke, and Alex's schedules planned out on a calendar.

Disney+ / Marvel / ABC

6. The only way to really notice this detail is if you watch with the subtitles on, but the radio station Wanda is listening to is W.N.D.A., a nod to her own name.

Disney+ / Marvel

7. While I can't tell if this missing child on the milk carton is anyone important, it's likely just foreshadowing Billy and Tommy going missing later in the episode.

Disney+ / Marvel

8. Wanda eats Sugar Snaps cereal, which is likely a reference to Thanos's snap from Avengers: Infinity War.

Disney+ / Marvel

9. Also, the Sugar Snaps box features a clown, which is a reference to Wanda turning all of the S.W.O.R.D. agents inside The Hex into circus performers.

Disney+ / Marvel

10. The opening credits in Episode 7 are a nod to the Happy Endings opening sequence, which featured different styles of the same word over and over again.

Disney+ / Marvel / ABC

Also, Vision is pretty much absent from the opening credits for the first time.

11. In fact, before directing several MCU movies, Anthony and Joe Russo were executive producers and directors on Happy Endings. Also, Matt Shakman, who directed all of the WandaVision episodes, directed an episode of Happy Endings.

Disney+ / Marvel / ABC

12. During the opening credits, Wanda's license plate features the numbers "122822," which actually stands for Dec. 28, 1922, which was Stan Lee's birthday.

Disney+ / Marvel

13. Also, if you pause the opening credits at the right moment, you can see that one of the messages reads, "I know what you are doing, Wanda," which is a nod to Vision realizing what is actually going on.

Disney+ / Marvel

14. And in the opening credits, there's a heart on the calendar, which is a reference to the heart on the calendar in Episode 1, and the font matches the Modern Family title card.

Disney+ / Marvel / ABC

15. Obviously, Darcy being an escape artist inside Westview matches up with her being handcuffed to a car before The Hex expanded.

Disney+ / Marvel

16. Red continues to be a very important color on WandaVision because it's associated with Wanda's powers. So, you can spot her eating out of a red cereal bowl in Episode 7.

Disney+ / Marvel

17. Also during the episode, Wanda and Billy both wear red, which is, quite frankly, an adorable nod to the fact that Wanda and Billy have similar personalities and powers.

Disney+ / Marvel

I stan each of the powerful Maximoff twins. Don't worry, Pietro and Tommy are the ~cool~ twins, and I love them too.

18. When Wanda's reality inside the house begins to crack, you can see that the stairs briefly revert back to The Brady Bunch–style stairs from Episode 3.

Disney+ / Marvel

19. Also, you can spot the plant that Agnes brought to Wanda during Episode 1.

Disney+ / Marvel

20. And the beloved stork from Tommy and Billy's bedroom that came to life in Episode 3 makes another brief appearance.

Disney+ / Marvel

21. The commercial for Nexus is actually super important. In the comics, there is the idea of the Nexus of All Realities, which is a gateway that you can use to get to any and all possible realities.

Disney+ / Marvel

The introduction of the Nexus of All Realities could set up Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which is the next MCU property Elizabeth Olsen is starring in.

22. Also in the Marvel comics, there is the idea of "Nexus Beings," who are individuals who can affect probability and the future. Vision and Wanda are both considered Nexus Beings.

Disney+ / Marvel

23. And Nexus Beings are watched closely by the Time Variance Authority, a group of people who monitor the timeline. In fact, in the trailers we've seen for Loki, he's in a prison jumpsuit with the letters "TVA," which likely stands for, you can start screaming now, the Time Variance Authority.

Disney+ / Marvel

In Endgame, when Loki stole the Tesseract and jumped from the events in Avengers to another point in time, he likely alerted the TVA.

24. As Monica is pushing her way into Westview, you can hear moments from Captain Marvel.

Disney+ / Marvel

In Episode 4, when Monica returned after Thanos's snap, she also heard this line from Carol about being tough.

25. And you can hear Nick Fury telling Monica in Captain Marvel that once she learns to "glow" like Carol, she can meet them in space. Well, Monica can "glow" now because she's got powers just like Carol.

Disney+ / Marvel

26. After Monica enters Westview, she's now able to see different forms of energy. In the comic books, Monica's main power is that she is able to control and transform herself into energy.

Disney+ / Marvel

Monica as Photon is finally here and I am SCREAMING.

27. If you look closely, you can see that Wanda appears to take one of the Nexus pills.

Disney+ / Marvel

28. Only a Marvel show would make me suspicious of a literal mailman, but he's always interacting with Agnes right after she talks to Wanda. Also, in this episode, the company he works for is "Presto," a term usually used by magicians.

Disney+ / Marvel

Can't wait until I have to formally apologize to this poor delivery man at the end of the season because he'll turn out to be just a random person.

29. When Wanda goes into Agnes's house and notices that Billy and Tommy are gone, Yo Gabba Gabba!, which original aired from 2007–2015, is playing on the TV. This is just another brilliant detail that helps set the time period.

Disney+ / Marvel

30. The reveal you probably saw coming if you've been reading my details posts, but Agnes is officially Agatha Harkness. In the comic books, Agatha is a powerful Marvel witch who becomes an important mentor for Wanda, and whose storyline is also connected to Scarlet Witch's twins.

Disney+ / Marvel

In the words of Doctor Strange, "We are in the endgame now."

31. I'm going to need someone a lot smarter than me to tell me what the symbol is on Agnes/Agatha's book, but it is glowing orange. Agatha's powers are associated with purple, so someone else is definitely up to something here.

Disney+ / Marvel

32. The super-catchy opening credits for "Agatha All Along" seem to be a nod to The Munsters.

Disney+ / Marvel / CBS

33. And finally, this episode gave us our first post-credit scene. You can see that Monica's eyes turn purple after Pietro sneaks up behind her, which indicates that she's under Agatha's control now, like Wanda.

Disney+ / Marvel

Also, having a post-credit scene in Episode 7 is the perfect little detail signifying that we are leaving the sitcom-like world and are now in a full-blown MCU-style TV show.
