Remember when Korean megastars BTS released a video of cartoon butter melting for an hour? I do. It absolutely ruled. It turned into a beautiful, little butter heart.
That video, which racked up 12.8 million views in April was merely a teaser for the new English single Butter, which dropped on May 21. This will come as no surprise to the BTS Army, but that video is performing much, much better.
Want to know how many views it had in its first hour? Oh, you know, almost 19 million. About the same as the entire country of Chile watching the video in the first hour. No big deal.
And that's just the start. According to Pop Base, it surpassed 10 million views in just 13 minutes. A record.
If you take out Paramount Pictures' Rings prank, BTS Dynamite holds the record for most views in a 24 hour period. I'm not sure I can just "take out" Paramount Pictures' Rings prank, but I am going to. Dynamite, at the very least, has the biggest number of views for a music video.
If "Butter" continues on its merry way, it'll smash past the 24 hour record — we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Anyway, how good is it when SUGA comes in? Damn. Smooth like butter.
