BTS, TWICE, NCT, Seventeen, Stray Kids, ITZY, IU, Lisa lead 2021 MAMA nominees - Philippine Entertainment Portal

The nominees for the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) 2021 were announced this Wednesday evening, November 3.

MAMA is the first and original K-pop award-giving body which began in 2009.

Global superstars BTS are nominated for Best Male Group, Best Dance Performance Male Group for their song "Butter," and Best Collaboration (with British rock band Coldplay) for "My Universe."

Other nominees for Best Male Group are NCT 127, NCT Dream, Seventeen, Stray Kids, and Tomorrow X Together.

Except for Tomorrow X Together, the same groups are also nominated for Best Dance Performance by a Male Group along with SHINEE.

TWICE, Red Velvet, ITZY, and Oh My Girl are nominated for both Best Female Group and Best Dance Performance by a Female Group.

(G)idle and Brave Girls are also competing for Best Female Group, while aespa and STAYC are the other two nominees for BesBest Dance Performance by a Female Group.

aespa and STAYC will also compete for Best New Female Artist, along with Jo Yuri, Kwon Eunbi, and LIGHTSUM.

In the Best New Male Artist Category, ENHYPEN will battle it out with Drippin, EPEX, MIRAE, and P1HARMONY.

Three EXO members are nominated for Best Male Artist: Baekhyun, D.O, and Kai. They are up against Kang Daniel (Wanna One) and Lee Muzin.

On the other hand, two BLACKPINK members are nominated for Best Female Artist: Lisa and Rose. The other nominees are IU, Heize, and Girls Generation's Taeyon.

The nominees for the Daesang or Grand Prizes like Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Worldwide Icon of the Year will be announced on the awards night itself.

The 2021 MAMA, to be hosted by Lee Hyori, will be held on December 11, 2021 at CJ ENM Contents World in Paju, South Korea.
