BTS' Jimin releases 'UK Garage' remix of 'Like Crazy' - NME

South Korean singer Jimin, a member of the boyband BTS, has released two remixes of his new single ‘Like Crazy’.

Today (March 27), the K-pop idol unveiled the ‘UK Garage’ and ‘Deep House’ remixes of the English version of ‘Like Crazy’, which appeared on his debut studio album ‘FACE’.

The ‘Deep House’ remix of ‘Like Crazy’ is a more club-ready mix that speeds up the tempo of the original, while adding a more percussion elements.

Last week, Jimin made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform ‘Like Crazy’, marking his first solo performance on US television.

Jimin also previously spoke about how his BTS groupmates were the “catalyst” for ‘FACE’. “The words from the members helped me during the production of the album, and for me personally, they also played a role in deciding which direction my album should take, which is reassuring,” he said.

Earlier this month, Jimin made two of his older solo songs ‘Promise’ and ‘Christmas Love’ on major streaming services for the first time. The tracks were originally only released on SoundCloud or YouTube.

Back in January, Jimin also teamed up with Big Bang singer Taeyang for the song ‘Vibe’. The track marked Taeyang’s first release since moving to The Black Label from YG Entertainment.

Meanwhile, Bang Si-hyuk, chairman of BTS‘ label HYBE, previously said that the plan for the boyband to reunite in 2025 is not set in stone.

Actor Jonathan Majors arrested for allegedly attacking girlfriend - Geo News

Actor Jonathan Majors was arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman in New York City on Saturday

According to reports, he was taken into custody following a domestic dispute.

local media reported that The Creed III and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star was found at the scene of a reported domestic dispute after police responded to a 911 call.

Police said the actor is now charged with strangulation, assault, and harassment.

“A preliminary investigation determined that a 33-year-old male was involved in a domestic dispute with a 30 year-old female. The victim informed police she was assaulted. Officers placed the 33-year-old male into custody without incident,” police said, adding that the unnamed victim “sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition.”

TMZ  reported that Majors is no longer in police custody. The outlet cited unnamed law enforcement sources to say the alleged victim is the actor’s girlfriend, and that the two had gotten into an argument while heading home in a taxi.

A rep for the actor told TMZ: "He has done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up."

xQc reveals he got invited to play Counter-Strike 2, showcases Twitter DMs - Sportskeeda

During a livestream on March 24, 2023, Twitch sensation Felix "xQc" revealed that the Counter-Strike 2 team had contacted him via Twitter to invited him to participate in the limited beta test for the upcoming tactical shooter. However, fans were, skeptical of the streamer's claims.

xQc assured the community that he was not joking around. After reading a few more reactions from Twitch chat, the French-Canadian personality decided to showcase the DMs he received from Counter-Strike 2. The latter's direct messages read:

"I'll get you shortly. Should have access in a bit. Link me your Steam account. You'll need to launch CS: GO and check your main menu to enroll."

"I've proved it!" - xQc responds to fan suspicion after claiming to have gained access to Counter-Strike 2

xQc was reacting to the top posts on the r/LivestreamFail subreddit, during which he watched several content creators play and test out the new features in Counter-Strike 2. At the 23-minute mark, Felix revealed that he had received access to play the first-person shooter:

"Well, I have CS2. I got invited, off-stream. Yo, CS DM'd (direct message) me and they made sure that I had the game. But I don't..."

Numerous Twitch viewers were skeptical of the former Overwatch pro's claims, and after looking at the responses, Felix asserted that he was not joking around:

"No, I'm not kidding. I'm not kidding!"

He then shared a screenshot of the private conversation he had with the Counter-Strike 2 team. After proving his claims, the 27-year-old content creator remarked:

"Bro, I will literally show you. Bro, what is with all this? Guys, every time I say, I always have to prove things for no reason, when I don't have to. Like, when will you just start, like, trusting? I don't get it. Are you happy? Oh, my god! I proved it! I proved it, I cannot believe it! I didn't lie! Holy s**t, it's insane!"

BTS’s Jimin appears on The Tonight Show, teases his favourite nickname. Watch - The Indian Express

Popular South Korean boy-band BTS’s member Jimin will appear on celebrity chat show The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. A promo video shows fans in the audience cheering relentlessly as the singer arrives, not even letting the host Jimmy Fallon speak.

This is the second appearance of Jimin on the celebrated chat show but the first solo appearance. He had earlier attended the chat show with the rest of the BTS members. In the same promo clip, which is going viral on social media, Jimmy Fallon asks Jimin if there is any nickname that the singer prefers. To this, Jimin teases the host and says, “Jimin Fallon”, much to the excitement of the audience sitting there.

Fans of Jimin on social media also showed excited about their idol’s solo appearance on the show, which has hosted the biggest names of Hollywood and other film industries across the world. A Twitter user tweeted, “me waiting to watch jimin on jimmy fallon while watching the premiere of like crazy and then listening to face when it comes out”, another impatient fan tweeted, “enough of your news updates show me Jimin”.

The singer also released his new single Like Crazy, from his first solo album Face. The BTS Army, as the fans identify themselves, has been waiting patiently for its release, which happens as Jimin performs it on The Tonight Show.

Earlier this month, Jimin had visited fellow BTS member Jin at the military camp, where the latter is under training since December 2022. Jimin said as per translations on Twitter, “I went to (meet) Jin Hyung. I’ve been in touch since 2 weeks ago. It would have been nice if all members went together, but busy with their own work. I’m still getting ready, so I had time. I had a few days after shoot.” He added, “I got a break because it was the weekend. J-Hope , had a day off too. So, we went together. He (Jin) ate really well. Hyung (Jin) likes food, but the amount is less than before. (But) I feel like he (his appetite) is back. We were eating together, and he ate really well,” he continued.

South Korea's HYBE to sell its stake in SM Entertainment - Reuters

SEOUL, March 24 (Reuters) - South Korean music label HYBE (352820.KS), which manages boy band BTS, said on Friday it would try to sell its entire stake in SM Entertainment (041510.KQ) after losing a battle for control of the K-pop pioneer.

HYBE's 15.78% stake in SM is worth 564 billion won ($437.14 million) based on social media giant Kakao Corp's (035720.KS) tender offer to acquire up to 35% of the company at 150,000 a share, which closes on Friday.

That would represent a gain of more than 20% from the price HYBE paid for its stake, most of which was acquired in February from SM founder Lee Soo-man, 70, who is considered the "godfather" of the K-pop industry.

For weeks, HYBE battled against Kakao to acquire SM before dropping its bid earlier this month. But cashed-up Kakao's price was well above HYBE's 120,000 won per share offer that had gained little traction with shareholders.

Kakao's offer was also backed by the current SM management team, led by Lee's nephew.

HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk said last week that he was "personally satisfied" with a new partnership with Kakao on fan platform businesses despite losing the battle over SM.

HYBE plans a substantial number of acquisitions and investments this year as the K-pop giant looks to boost its U.S. presence, Bang added.

SM shares were up 1.77% as of 11:18 a.m. (0213 GMT) while the smaller Kosdaq Index saw a 1.13% rise. HYBE shares were up 0.85%, compared with a 0.53% drop in the benchmark KOSPI market.

SM is home to popular K-pop groups such as Girls' Generation, H.O.T., EXO, Red Velvet, Super Junior, SHINee, NCT Dream and Aespa.

Netizens praise JTBC's idol competition program 'Peak Time' for giving eliminated teams a meaningful gift - allkpop

On March 22 KST, JTBC's K-Pop boy group competition program 'Peak Time' held its first elimination.

On this day, 6 out of the 16 total competing teams were eliminated, although for approximately 2 months, all 16 groups had begun preparing for the third round competition.

For the third round, each of the competing teams received a brand new song matched by fans. All 16 songs were composed by outside composers for the survival program, and the team members spent a significant amount of time learning the songs and their choreographies, also recording the songs for digital release. However, the 6 eliminated teams ultimately were not able to proceed to the third round. 

Then, as a parting gift by the production staff of 'Peak Time', MC Lee Seung Gi announced, "To the six teams who were unfortunately unable to proceed to the third round, please take with you the new song, the choreography, as well as the outfits prepared for the stage. Although we cannot see your performances on 'Peak Time', we hope to see you performing these songs on many other stages, and so these are gifts for you from the production staff."

Many netizens were moved by this meaningful gift that the survival program offered to each of the eliminated teams. In fact, one even observed, "This show just gave those teams a free comeback."

In fact, as viewers of 'Peak Time' will know, many of the competing teams on this program are K-Pop boy groups from small agencies, meaning that the cost of purchasing songs, choreographies, outfits, and more are a heavy burden. In response, netizens left comments like,

"I really want to see the other teams perform too!!"

"This show is so heartwarming TT. Even though it's a competition, you can see that the production staff genuinely wants all of the teams to succeed TT."

"This is the best survival program I've ever seen."

"What a meaningful way to spend a budget."

“Music Core” Responds To Reports Of NMIXX's Sullyoon Joining As New MC - soompi

“Music Core” has commented on reports of a new MC being chosen.

On March 23, it was reported that NMIXX’s Sullyoon will be a new fixed MC on “Music Core,” joining the current MCs NCT’s Jungwoo and Stray Kids’ Lee Know. The report added that Sullyoon will first be a special MC on the March 25 episode before officially joining as a new MC.

In response to the reports, a source from “Music Core” commented, “[Sullyoon] will be a special MC this week. The new MC has not been confirmed yet.”

Kim Min Ju was previously a “Music Core” MC with Jungwoo and Lee Know, but she stepped down from her position in January after over two years with the show.

According to media outlet reports on March 22, Seungri's rumored girlfriend Yoo Hye Won has already retired from the entertainment industry, 4 years after her debut in the web drama 'Go, Back Diary' in 2018.

According to a representative of SBD Entertainment, Yoo Hye Won's exclusive contract has ended, and the agency has not maintained contact with her for a while. The agency rep also stated that all of her contact information has changed, and so it is difficult to get in contact with her again.

Meanwhile, Yoo Hye Won is still known as an SNS influencer and model. Earlier on March 22, media outlet 'Dispatch' claimed that she was spotted vacationing in Bangkok, Thailand with her rumored boyfriend, former Big Bang member Seungri.

Earlier on March 19, a professionally taken photo of Sung Han Bin posing topless with eight female dance crew members for a group profile photo surfaced online, causing groundless rumors to circulate.

On March 22, tutting (style of dance that involves making geometric shapes with the body) dancer Spella made clarifications regarding the photo, confirming that it was a group profile picture for the tutting dance crew that Sung Han Bin was formerly a member of.

Spella stated, “At the time, Sung Han Bin was a fellow dance crew member. The relevant photo was taken for the purpose of the crew’s group profile picture. We wanted to highlight the pearl initial on our faces while simultaneously giving off a pure image, so we wore tank tops that softly revealed our neck and shoulder lines.”

Regarding the formation the photo was taken in, Spella elaborated, “Sung Han Bin was the only male [member], so rather than placing him in the center, we placed him at the side so that he could smoothly blend in. If he were to be the only one wearing a shirt or if he had worn a tank top like us, we thought it might look weirder or stand out even more, so only Sung Han Bin took his top off.”

Sung Han Bin is currently participating on “Boys Planet” as a trainee under STUDIO GL1DE. In the first round of eliminations, Sung Han Bin ranked No. 1 out of the currently remaining 51 contestants.

TWICE's Chaeyoung posts an apology after wearing a shirt with a swastika - allkpop

TWICE's Chaeyoung recently took to social media to apologize for wearing a shirt featuring a controversial symbol. The shirt in question had a design that included a swastika, a symbol associated with the Nazis and widely considered a hate symbol.

On March 21, Chaeyoung posted an apology on her Instagram account, stating that she had no knowledge of the symbol's association with the Nazi regime and expressed her deep regrets about wearing the shirt. She went on to say that she was sorry for any offense that she may have caused and that she would be more mindful of her fashion choices in the future.

She wrote, "Hello, this is Chaeyoung from TWICE. I sincerely apologize regarding the Instagram post. I didn't correctly recognize the meaning of the tilted swastika in the t-shirt I wore. I deeply apologize for not thoroughly reviewing it, causing concern. I will pay absolute attention in the future to prevent any situation similar from happening again. Sincerely apologize again."

The apology has been met with mixed reactions from fans and netizens, with some expressing understanding and forgiveness while others felt that Chaeyoung should have been more aware of the symbol's meaning before wearing it.

Chaeyoung seen wearing this t-shirt has become more problematic since she was also seen wearing a QAnon shirt not too long ago during a music show performance. At the time, many fans were defending the idol and criticized the stylist who dressed her in the problematic shirt.

But this time, Chaeyoung was seen on her Instagram post wearing a shirt with Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious, who is wearing a shirt with the swastika. This means, Chaeyoung most likely personally chose the fashion herself since the photos show the idol in her daily life.

Also, this is not the first time Chaeyoung was seen wearing the Swastika t-shirt. She was also seen wearing the shirt on March 5, but she had a sweater covering the swastika.

Many Korean netizens have criticized that Chaeyoung should have been more careful in choosing her fashion and pointed out that she had worn that problematic shirt more than once. Chaeyoung deleted the photos from her Instagram after posting the apology.

Korean netizens commented, "She posted an apology so..." "She should have really been careful," "Wow, that was wrong of her," "She took down the photos quickly and apologized, which is good. Just hope she's more careful in the future," "How does she not know the Nazi symbol?" Her comments at the trial started a heated debate about the plausibility of Kim Sae Ron’s claims. It has recently been revealed that a customer allegedly saw Kim Sae Ron working at a bar in Gangnam. The customer’s account of the incident revealed that Kim Sae Ron had been diligently working at a bar that is allegedly owned by one of her own relatives.

Despite much publication-anticipation, Kim Sae Ron did not address the aforementioned claims. 

Kim Sae Ron is a South Korean actress who rose to fame for her role in 2010 South Korean thriller ‘The Man From Nowhere’ alongside Won Bin. In the movie, Kim Sae Ron plays the role of a young girl who becomes the only friend of an otherwise lonely pawnshop owner Chae Tae Sik (Won Bin). Her role in the movie charmed many and Kim Sae Ron became a favourite in South Korea.

BTS` Jungkook, Taehyung, Suga and RM crash Harry Styles concert in Seoul. Watch - WION

In the Asian leg of his ongoing Love On Tour, English singer and actor Harry Styles' concert in Seoul, South Korea was attended by the leading lights of K-pop, including members of BTS and BLACKPINK. Held at the city's KSPO Dome on Monday, the concert saw the attendance of Rosé and Jennie from BLACKPINK and V and Jungkook from BTS dancing on Styles' songs, including his One Direction number 'What Makes You Beautiful'. RM and Suga were also spotted during the concert. Rosé shared a video of her dancing during the concert and also shared a backstage photo with Styles, in which he can be seen giving her a side hug. 

"Yayyy thank you @harrystyles for coming to Korea," she wrote in her Instagram stories. Members of K-pop acts like ENHYPEN, MONSTA, TWICE, Aespa, Super Junior also attended the concert.

Love On Tour

This is the second concert tour of Styles' career after 2017-2018's Live on Tour. He is promoting his second and third studio albums, Fine Line (released on 13 December 2019) and Harry's House (released on 20 May 2022) with the tour. It has seven legs spread over 22 months, starting on 4 September 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and ending on 22 July 2023 in Reggio Emilia, Italy. The tour will have a total of 169 shows.  The tour was postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

In terms of acting roles, Styles was last seen in Michael Grandage's romantic drama My Policeman. The film, based on the 2012 novel of the same name by Bethan Roberts, also featured Emma Corrin, Gina McKee, Linus Roache, David Dawson, and Rupert Everett. The film received mixed reviews from critics.

32nd Lotte Duty Free Family Concert Announces 3-Day Performer Lineup - soompi

Lotte Duty Free has announced its lineup for their annual Family Concert!

The Family Concert first began in 2006 but was held online in recent years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This will be the first time in four years that the concert will be held offline to celebrate the 2023-2024 Visit Korea Year.

Day 1 of the concert will kick off on June 16 at 7:30 p.m. KST, and NCT DREAM, Stray Kids, STAYC, aespa, KINGDOM, and Lee Chae Yeon will be performing.

The lineup for Day 2 of the concert, which takes place on June 17 at 6 p.m. KST, will consist of artists Sung Si Kyung, Gummy, Crush, Jukjae, ITZY, and ENHYPEN.

The third and final day of the concert taking place on June 18 at 6 p.m. KST will feature trot artists Young Tak, Lee Chan Won, Jang Min Ho, Jang Yoon Jung, Jin Si Mon, and Song Ga In.

The Lotte Duty Free Family Concert will take place on June 16 to 18 at the KSPO Dome in Seoul.

LE SSERAFIM's official light stick design garners attention for its resemblance to a 'flat iron' - allkpop

It's day 1 of LE SSERAFIM's first fan meeting, 'FEARNADA 2023 S/S', which means that early-birdFEARNOTS have picked up their official fan light sticks at the merch booth!

LE SSERAFIM's first fan meeting is scheduled to take place this weekend from March 18-19 at the Seoul Olympic Hall. The event will mark the first official event where the members and fans will interact with LE SSERAFIM's official light stick!

So what does the light stick look like in person?

EXO's Kai's mini-album 'Rover' is recording good results both at home and abroad.

Kai’s achievements: 

Kai's third mini-album ‘Rover,’ released on March 13th, topped the iTunes Top Album Chart in 40 regions around the world, including Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Chile. In addition, 'Rover' took first place in domestic music charts daily, including Hanteo Chart and Circle Retail Album Chart, and ranked first in China's QQ Music digital album sales chart and music video chart in Korea.

This album includes the title song 'Rover', 'Black Mirror', 'Slidin'', 'Bomba', 'Say You Love Me', 'Sinner' and a total of six songs. Meanwhile, Kai is scheduled to appear on MBC FM4U's 'Noon Song of Hope', to talk about his new album. The title song of the same name, 'Rover', is a song that contains Kai's wild charm. It is a remake of 'Mr. Rover' released last year by Bulgarian female singer Dara. As Kai reinterpreted, the intense and moderate charm was highlighted. Like the title, 'Rover' contains a story about a wanderer. The content is that he throws off the eyes that bind his and others' lives freely. It is a rhythmical dance genre featuring a heavy 808 bass and various percussions such as marimba and bells, and the addictive melody is full of hip charm.

Kai: 

Kai thought of when he heard the keyword 'Wanderer' is a biker that moves freely on the road. Bleached hair, a racing leather jacket and sunglasses exude a free spirit. Combined with the song, it feels like an outlaw in a western movie. The performance is the part where you can get a glimpse of Kai's tough yet sexy side. The action of starting the engine before the start of the chorus reminds me of a biker, and the action of striking the hands and feet together with the dancers in line with the repeated chorus creates a sense of pleasure. Above all, the choreography that adjusts the dynamics according to the flow of the song makes it impossible to take your eyes off it.

Singer/actor Ong Seong Wu announces his mandatory enlistment as an active duty soldier - allkpop

Singer/actor Ong Seong Wu will be enlisting soon for his mandatory service as an active duty soldier. 

On March 16 KST, Fantagio announced via Ong Seong Wu's official cafe,

"Hello, this is Fantagio.

First, we thank WELO (fans of Ong Seong Wu) for your generous love toward our artist, and we notify you of Ong Seong Wu's mandatory service enlistment plans.

Ong Seong Wu will begin his mandatory service with basic training on April 17 before going on to carry out the remainder of his service as an active duty soldier. 

To minimize the potential for chaos on site, there will be no separate ceremony for the artist's enlistment. As the new recruit enlistment ceremony is a private site for new recruits and their families to spend time before their parting, we politely ask that fans refrain from visiting. 

Please send your warm love and support toward Ong Seong Wu, who will carry out his mandatory duties diligently and return safely.
