After becoming an immediate standout star in the current series of America's Got Talent, blind singing sensation Putri Ariani has revealed her lofty career ambitions - and her hopes that Simon Cowell will be the man to help her achieve them.

The talented 17-year-old wowed viewers with her show-stopping performance on June 7, which even moved normally stoic judge Cowell, 63, to tears.

In fact, the British judge was so impressed by the multihyphenate musician's triumphant performance he pressed the golden buzzer to send her straight through to the live rounds.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com about getting the seal of approval from one of the music industry's biggest names, Ariani stated: 'Simon is a very great producer and he always knows how to manage and how to make a big singer, and I really want to like that someday. And the young singer's dream is clear as she expressed her desire to become a global music star.

'I want to know how to become a superstar. I really want to go around the world,' the talented teen added.

Ariani already has a successful musical career in her native Indonesia after she won Indonesia's Got Talent in 2014 - aged just eight-years-old.

She then continued on a series of other singing shows and slowly became a well-known face in her motherland - and a shining light in the blind community.

The singer, who was born in Yogyakarta, has been blind since she was just three months old.

Despite the challenges she's faced, she learned to play the piano, guitar, and flute, and began composing her own songs.

Not content with her current success, Ariani admitted that she was driven to audition for America's Got Talent due to her love of the series.

She explained: 'I watched AGT most of my life. I hoped that someday I could be a part of the show. That's been my dream. And for me, AGT is the door to the next level.'

Opening up about how a potential win would impact more than just her own life, she continued: 'I would be so very grateful and winning AGT is not about me, not just about me, but also about the world.

'How I can give my contributions and gifts to the world and how I can influence and inspire other people who have similar or the same conditions as me that still live in different countries.

'I want them to be brave, and to reach their dream and to do more and as much as I do.'

Ariani hopes to continue achieving more of her dreams, including future collaborations with her musical idols.

As for the chance she could one day win a Grammy, she stated: 'It would be so special because I would then be a real diva.'

Before starting her performance on AGT, she said: 'My biggest challenge is people look at me just as a blind person, not as a musician.

'But when I'm singing, I feel like I'm a superstar.

Big moment: Cowell pressed AGT's golden buzzer, which propelled the singer to the live semi-finals

'My dream is being the biggest diva in the world like [American singer] Whitney Houston, and to win a Grammy award. I hope that I can get into Juilliard for my college program.'

After her astonishing performance, all the judges enthusiastically stood up and applauded.

Cowell told her: 'You're only 17. You write songs, you've got an amazing distinctive voice.

'You have a kind of a glow about you. You are, I think, one of the best singers we've ever had on our show.'
