The 'Family Man' actress has been keeping her more than 28.5 million followers on Instagram updated with glimpses of her Bali vacation. Her decision to take a break from acting was driven by her battle with myositis, an autoimmune condition.

Ice baths are said to offer numerous benefits, however, it should be approached with caution as it can lower the temperature of the body. One must consult a healthcare professional including ice baths into their daily routine.

Some benefits of the ice baths include:

Pain relief

Ice baths can help alleviate pain and reduce inflammation and swelling. It is believed that freezing water can numb pain receptors. This may be particularly beneficial for athletes after intense physical activities or intense gym-goers as part of post-exercise recovery.

Keeps stress at bay

Ice baths are perfect if you want to keep stress away. Experts say that immersing oneself in cold water triggers the release of endorphins, commonly known as 'feel-good' hormones, which help in reducing stress levels.

Improves sleep quality

The release of 'feel-good' hormones induces a sense of relaxation, which calms the body and mind. This further helps with improved sleep quality and keeps tension and anxiety at bay.

Promotes focus

Ice baths are said to stimulate certain neurotransmitters like norepinephrine and dopamine that promote focus and concentration. Cold water therapy helps individuals be more alert and mindful.

For better circulation

Alternating exposure to cold and warm temperatures can stimulate the circulatory system during ice baths. This further improves blood circulation.
