Until recently, signet rings were worn almost exclusively by royals, poshos, stuffy old men and the kind of people Saltburn is about. There's a reason why: historically, the rings were engraved with initials or a family crest, and used for stamping confidential letters shut with a wax seal. This meant it was mostly important, upper class nobles who needed them.
